February Recap 24

But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. ² When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. ³ For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Saviour. (Isaiah 43:1-3)

These were the verses Joe Donaldson read on the final Sunday of the month when he came along to our morning service to share his testimony. Since August 2023 we have been praying for Joe as he has undergone treatment for pancreatic cancer. It was a fantastic morning when we heard Joe testify of God’s goodness in his life, especially over the last 6 months.

February has been a busy month at the Welcome with Pastor Jonathan beginning a new series on the life of Samuel and on Sunday evenings a series in Luke 15 called Lost Things. On the first Sunday at Reach Out Philip Mitchell shared his story of coming to faith in Christ.

At Teaching Tuesday, we have continued our studies in the book of Revelation, and it has been great to see the number of people attending increasing week on week. Pastor Jonathan had the opportunity on the final Tuesday of the month to attend Dungiven Presbyterian Church and share the Lasting Legacy Presentation on Amy Carmichael. That night we enjoyed Dean Houston’s ministry.

Throughout the month there has been much to celebrate. Firstly, on 11^th February we had a baby dedication service for Kayson Moore. We pray that young in life he and his family would come to trust in Christ for salvation. On 17^th February we celebrated the marriage of Carol Beck to George Hussy and pray that whatever they would face in married life together they would trust in God for all things. We rejoice with Pastor Steve, Faith and little Reuben on the birth of Anna also on 17^th. We give thanks for her safe arrival and for God’s blessing upon the family.

Again, we our conscious of those families in the area who have suffered a bereavement over the last month and pray that God would surround them with His love and compassion.
