December 25 Recap

Matthew 2:10-11- 10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. 11 And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

As the Christmas season comes to an end for another year, we look back with hearts filled with joy and gratitude for all that the Lord has done. We have already shared some of this month’s highlights, including:

We are so thankful for all the volunteers who generously give their time to serve in the church. All ministries will take a short break over the Christmas period and will recommence on the following dates:

  • Tuesday 6th January – Stauros & Thrive
  • Wednesday 7th January – Senior Citizens
  • Friday 9th January – Friday Night Club

Pastor Jonathan concluded the teaching series on Joseph, reminding us that although certain situations in life can test us, God is with us and has a purpose in every trial. Pastor Steve also concluded the Fly Through the Bible series on Sunday evenings. We praise God for the journey we are on and look forward with hope to that final destination in heaven with our Saviour.

It was a privilege to have David Childs with us on the final Sunday of December, as he shared about his work and ministry in Govan, serving 20 schemes under the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches. We also finished the year in prayer on the final Tuesday night, giving thanks for all God has done and looking ahead with anticipation to 2026.

Pastor Steve had the opportunity to share at the Girls’ Model Carol Service. It was a wonderful evening, reminding us of the true reason for the Christmas season, and we are grateful to God for the many opportunities to share His message in our local schools.

We remember those families who have been bereaved in recent weeks, especially around the time of Christmas, and we pray that the Lord would comfort them. We also think of those who have lost loved ones throughout the year and face Christmas without them. May they know the joy of the Lord as their strength, even in the midst of sorrow.

As we look ahead to 2026, Pastor Jonathan will begin a new teaching series on Sunday 4th January, focusing on the book of Ruth. We also extend our congratulations to the Chapmans, who were married on the final day of 2025. We pray God’s blessing upon them as they begin the new year as husband and wife.

Looking ahead, we are excited for our Christmas Carol Service led by Kidz & Youth Reach. Please join us on Sunday 14th December at 11:30am — everyone is warmly welcome.
