July & August 25 Recap
Psalm 150:6- Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!
The summer months at The Welcome have been a little quieter, and we trust that all our members and volunteers have had the chance to rest, recharge, and be spiritually refreshed. As the season draws to a close, we look forward with anticipation to the restart of our ministries.
Over the summer, Pastor Jonathan completed his Sunday morning series on the Psalms—a book that continues to bring us great hope and encouragement today. In August, Pastor Steve led us through a short series on Noah during the Sunday mornings and shared from John 4 on the woman at the well during the Sunday evenings.
On Sunday 31st August, we launched a new evening service, Fly Through the Bible. This series will cover all 66 books of the Bible in 15 studies, incorporating videos, discussion times, and an app to help us recap what we’ve learned together. Pastor Jonathan will be commencing two new series in September looking at the life of Joseph on Sunday mornings and the book of Daniel on Tuesday evenings.
A special highlight of the summer was our Summer Scheme – The Great Tree Trail. We thank God for all the children who came along and learned about trees in the Bible. We were also blessed by a visit from Knocknagonny Evangelical Meeting House Vocational Bible School, where the children heard about Amy Carmichael and the history of the church. We continue to praise God for His faithfulness and pray that, even from a young age, these boys and girls would come to trust in the Lord.
This summer we also celebrated multiple dedications—Reuben, Colton, Saige, Ocean, and Wylie. We give thanks to God for their precious lives, praying His hand of blessing upon them and their families.
The Senior Citizens enjoyed a day of fellowship together. However, our hearts were saddened by the home call of former Pastor Eddie Young and former elder John Cameron. We extend our deepest sympathies to both families, and to all in our community who have experienced loss. May the Lord’s comfort be especially near.
