November 25 Recap
Mark 16:15- He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
This month has been a busy one at The Welcome as we move closer to the Christmas season. Already, we have shared highlights from three special events: our Coffee Morning, Christmas Fair, and Tennessee Praise Night. We also give thanks to God for Lily, who came to know Christ as her Saviour — a wonderful encouragement to us all.
On Sunday mornings, Pastor Jonathan continued his series on the life of Joseph, while on Sunday evenings Pastor Steve led us through Fly Through the Bible. Teaching Tuesdays also continued with Pastor Jonathan’s studies in the book of Daniel. If you’ve missed any of these sessions, remember you can always catch up on our YouTube channel.
All of our ministries — including Stauros, Senior Citizens, Thrive, Friday Night Club, Kidz Reach, and Youth Reach — have been running as normal. Pastor Steve has also had the opportunity to speak at the Scripture Union groups in Girls’ Model, Springhill, and Forth River.
Pastor Steve attended the annual Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches FIEC conference in Blackpool, joining more than 1,100 other church leaders. The theme of the conference focused on “Church Without Borders” and the importance of world mission. We were also delighted to welcome Andy Hunter, the Regional Director for Scotland and Northern Ireland, on Tuesday 25th November as he shared an encouraging report about the work of FIEC.
At the beginning of the month, Pastor Jonathan had the privilege of dedicating little Eli McClelland. We are thankful to God for his precious life and pray that, in time, he will trust the Lord as his Saviour.
We also want to extend our deepest sympathy to those in our community who have recently lost loved ones, and especially to those facing their first Christmas without someone dear. We pray that God’s comfort and peace will sustain you during this difficult season.
