Marvellous Mother's Day
The ladies of the Welcome once again led our service to celebrate Mother's Day. As everyone made their way into church they were greeted at the door by Sisi and each lady was presented with a box of chocolates. Arlene welcome everyone who gathered and led the service with Karla & Anne lifting the offering. Margaret opened in prayer before Amanda came to lead the children in singing One Way Jesus.
Gloria interviewed Titi and during the interview Titi shared a little about life growing up in Nigeria, and how her and her family were led by God to live in Belfast and become part of the Welcome 3 years ago. Bessie (Pastor Jonathan's mother) sang a wonderful solo of "The Love of God" and then Betty shared a poem.
Paula shared her testimony, and told the church about life growing up in a Christian home and how she came to faith in Christ as a child. She also shared the struggles of not being able to have children but how the Lord heard her prayers and gave Mark and her the blessing of 2 sons. Paula also reminded everyone that regardless of the circumstances the Bible encourages us to praise the Lord.
Suzanne brought the Bible reading from Ruth 1:16-17 and Gloria shared a few thoughts on what had been read. Gloria explained that Boaz was willing to pay the price to be the kinsman redeemer for Ruth, but Jesus paid an even greater price to redeem us. Ruth saw the difference God made in Naomi's life and asked the congregation the question "Do people see the difference the Lord makes it our lives?"
Pastor Jonathan closed the service in prayer and thanked all the marvellous mothers for all the effort they put into the service and that we should be thankful for each woman who is a part of the church.
As everyone left for refreshments in the centre, hosted by Naomi, each lady was given a little fridge magnet to keep to remember the day. We give thanks to God for such a great time of fellowship together. If you missed the service you can watch it on Facebook or YouTube.
