Thrive Residential 2026
To finish the year at Thrive, on Friday 24th April, 22 young people and 7 leaders headed away for a weekend at Ballyhome Residential Centre in Portrush.
After arriving and settling into our dorms, we made our way to Castlerock beach where we played games, including a fun round of “hunts,” and enjoyed a campfire together. The sunset was beautiful, and looking up at the stars reminded us of God’s awesome creation.
On Saturday, after very little sleep, everyone headed to Splash in Moneymore for a day of beach games—volleyball, rounders, and football—followed by time on the Aqua Park, which was a highlight for many. After dinner, some stayed at the centre to relax, while others went to Whiterocks beach for a swim or a walk.
On Sunday, we wrapped up the weekend with a walk in Portballintrae. We were so thankful for the fantastic weather throughout.
Our Bible theme for the weekend was Hope. We explored questions like: What is hope? Is there hope in the world? We also heard a powerful story of hope through Philip’s testimony and considered the personal question: Is there hope for me?
Everyone had a great time (even if the leaders were glad to get home for some rest!). A huge thank you to all those who faithfully volunteer at Thrive each Tuesday evening to share God’s love with these young people.
