October 26 Recap

Psalm 133:1- Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

October began with a visit from Jimmy and Garrett from Breakaway Outreach in Tennessee. Throughout the month, Pastor Jonathan continued his Sunday morning series on the Psalms of Ascent, while Pastor Steve continued his Sunday evening series on 1 John. At Teaching Tuesday, Pastor Jonathan has continued with the Adventures of Abraham.

The final Sunday of the month concluded with Stephen Dickson’s band, Still Standing, who came along to minister through song. Jackie McCoubrey also shared a brief word of encouragement, reminding us to keep trusting in the Lord.

All the ministries continue to grow and flourish, and we are so thankful for the many ways God is blessing each one. At the end of the month, the youth ministries took a break for half term. We trust this was a refreshing and restful time for all of the leaders.

There has been much to celebrate throughout the month. Firstly, we give thanks for Jennifer who gave her life to the Lord on 6th October, and Cheryl who made the same decision on 27th October. We pray that they would grow stronger in their faith and walk with the Lord each day.

We also gave thanks for the dedication services held for Crue Johnston and Gia, George and Sully Harrison. It was a joy to celebrate and pray for these children.

The Scripture Union group restarted again in the Girl’s Model and Pastor Steve is grateful for the opportunity to go into the school alongside other volunteers to share God’s word with the girls on a Tuesday lunchtime. We pray these time together will be a blessing and that the Lord would continue to bless the school.

On Monday 19th the men gathered at the Classic Snooker Hall. It was a great time of friendly competition, fellowship and ecnoruagement.

We also extend our sympathies to those in our community who have experienced grief. We continue to pray that the Lord will comfort the brokenhearted and strengthen all those facing uncertainty in the days ahead. May they know His peace, comfort and faithfulness.

As we reflect on all that has taken place throughout the month, we return to the verse at the beginning. Our prayer is that God will continue to bless our church, and that, as His family, we will remain united as brothers and sisters in Christ, growing together in love, faith and fellowship.
