Thrive Overnight Residential- 27th-28th June
On Friday, 27th June, the Thrive group set off from the church for an overnight residential at the Ballyhome Centre in Portrush. After arriving and settling in, we shared a delicious dinner together before gathering for our first session. Thomas opened the evening by sharing his powerful testimony, followed by Steve speaking on the parables of the Lost Sheep and the Lost Coin from Luke 15.
Later that evening, we headed to Castlerock for a game of hunts and gathered around a campfire to toast marshmallows. Watching the sunset together made for a memorable end to a brilliant evening before we returned to the centre for some late-night games and fun.
Saturday, 28th June began with breakfast, followed by our second session, where we explored the story of the Lost Son. Afterwards, we split into small discussion groups for deeper reflection and conversation.
For lunch, we enjoyed a picnic at Portballintrae and took a scenic walk before heading to The Lake Kilrea, where the young people had a blast at the waterpark. On the way home, we stopped at McDonald’s for dinner before returning to the church.
It was a fantastic trip filled with fun, faith, and friendship. We’re so grateful for everyone who came and made it special. We wish all our young people a wonderful summer and can’t wait to see them again in September!
