July & August Recap 2026

Everyone is Welcome at the Welcome

July & August Recap 2026

John 21:25- And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.

Over the summer, things have been much quieter in the Welcome with many of our ministries taking a break. We do hope that all the volunteers and leaders have enjoyed a refreshing time and are looking forward to everything restarting in September.

The month of July began with the conclusion of the Ultimate Champion Summer Scheme. It was fantastic to share with the children that Jesus is our ultimate champion, and that through Him, we can have victory over sin and death.

At the beginning of July, we also celebrated with Pastor Steve and Faith the birth of their third child, Sarah. We continue to pray for God’s blessing upon them as a family as they begin this new chapter together.

Throughout the summer it has been wonderful to celebrate and give thanks to God for new life through our dedication’s services. We gave thanks for Maltida Mckay, Layton Close, Klea Woods, Kierney Woods, Charlotte McCaughan, Ovie Robinson, Olivia Evans. We pray that the Lord would bless each of these children and their families in the days ahead.

It was a joy to celebrate the wedding of Colleen and Curtis Mahood and to see the church completely transformed for their special day. We pray God’s continued blessing upon Curtis, Colleen, Leo, and Aayliah.

During July, Pastor Jonathan continued the series on Sunday mornings looking at the Psalms of Ascent. When Pastor Steve returned in August, he brought a short 3-week series looking at the disciple John. On Sunday 9th August Pastor Steve began a new series on 1 John, focussing on the reassurance we can have as believers in our salvation. We concluded August with Restart Sunday.

On Tuesday evenings our time together has been devoted to prayer. It was great to hear William Neill and Stephen Dickson share God’s word with the church. On Tuesday 25th we enjoyed a special missionary evening with Stanley Kyle. It was also great to welcome visitors from Dohnavour Fellowship to the church and Sam and Tara. When Amy Carmichael moved to India, she stayed with Sam’s great grandparents so it was great to welcome them to the church for the first time.

Sadly, throughout the summer we also shared in the sorrow of those who have lost loved ones, and we continue to remember them in prayer.

There have also been many within our church family who have required surgery or have experienced illness. We continue to pray for each situation, asking God to intervene, bring healing and give strength and peace to those who are unwell and to their families.

As we look ahead to everything recommencing in September, we are thankful for all that God has done throughout July and August. We look forward with expectation to all that He has planned for the months ahead.  Don’t forget to check out the Ministry Restart Dates for 2026!
