July & August 23 Recap
9 There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. 10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. (Hebrews 4:9-10)
Although the weather this summer has been miserable, we give thanks to God for the summer months and for the opportunity to seek rest in God.
With many coming and going throughout the summer Pastor Jonathan and Pastor Steve have shared various messages on Sunday mornings, Sunday evenings and Tuesday nights at Prayer and Praise. There have also been some missionary meetings on Tuesday evenings with Tom Rice from Distribution of Hebrew Scriptures, David Childs who will be planting a church in Govan, Glasgow and Stanley Kyle from Arab World Ministries. These evenings have been informative about how God is using His people around the world to reach out to others.
In July at Reach Out at the Welcome, Rodney Bishop came along to share his testimony and in August Neil Snoddy shared his. If you haven’t had an opportunity to watch Neil’s story you can click here to do so. On Sunday 13th August the baby dedication of Eli Conville took place, we thank God for this little life and pray that at a young age he would trust Christ as His Saviour.
We praise God for those in the past two months who have given their lives over to the Lord and pray they would grow stronger in their faith each day. We thank God for the Summer Scheme that took place and all the kids who came along. If you’d like to find out more about what the kids and leaders got up to that week you can check out the full report. Pastor Jonathan also had the privilege of conducting the wedding of Beth Cairns and Glen Butler, Beth was previously a member of the Friday Night Club.
This summer has also been difficult for so many families and we sympathise with all of those whose loved ones have passed away. We pray that God would bring comfort to the families.
As we look ahead to September much planning has been going on behind the scenes for all the ministries restarting during the summer and we pray that God would bless all our endeavours. If you want to know more info, go to our church life webpage or like us on Facebook.
