Returning to School
Summer has ended (although with the weather did it ever really start???) and our children and young people are recommencing school again for another year. To start the new school year we gathered on Sunday 1st September to praise God and pray for our schools. During the service Olivia shared about how she feels moving from primary to post-primary school with the subject she is looking forward to the most being 'lunch'. As well as leading the congregation in 2 songs on the guitar, Noah shared about how he is doing his GCSEs this year and is unsure what to do after school so would appreciate prayer for God's leading. While Suzanne explained to the church how she finds working as a classroom assistant in a local school.
The theme for the day was Spot the Difference and Pastor Steve shared the stories of two men from Jericho- The Blind Beggar and Zacchaeus. Jesus changed both of these men's lives and as Hebrews 13:8 reminds Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever, He is still changing lives today! Our prayer is, for those whose lives have been transformed by Jesus that others may spot the difference knowing Him makes in our lives.
