September Recap

Everyone is Welcome at the Welcome

September Recap

September has been a very busy month at the Welcome with the beginning of new ministries and other ministries resuming after the summer.

On Sunday mornings Pastor Jonathan has continued to share with the church the Life of Moses. This has been a real blessing as we have thought about the importance of putting God first in everything. Teaching Tuesdays recommenced on 13th September continuing our studies in the book of Ephesians. On the last Tuesday of September, we had a group from Calvary Baptist Church, McMinnville, Tennessee, USA visit with us. If you missed out, you could catch up by watching the videos on the Welcome Church Facebook page.

On the first Sunday night in September, we had Conor Downey along at our new ministry Reach Out at the Welcome. We are grateful to the 78 people who came along and give thanks for the powerful testimony of God’s grace in Conor’s life.

The Senior citizens started back on Wednesday mornings from 10.30-12. There is room for many more to join and you would be made most welcome.

The youth work is back up and running. Kidz Reach continues each Sunday morning during the church service for children age 3+. We give thanks to God for the teenagers who come along to Youth Reach Bible study which has started each alternate Sunday during the service. While Friday Night club continues with group A and B each week and we are grateful to have 170 kids signed up.

Our newest ministry Thrive for secondary School kids aged Year 8-12 also began. We give thanks to God for all those who volunteer, but also for the young people that come along. If you want to find out more info, go to our Church Life page to stay up to date.

Pastor Steve had the opportunity to go into Forth River Primary School and take the whole school assembly. The following Tuesday he spoke at the Scripture Union, and it was great to see 30 kids coming along to that event.

During the month of September there were two baby dedications in the church. Aria Johnston and Kasie Kavanagh, we give thanks to God for these little ones and pray that young in life they will come to know Christ.

We are so grateful to God for all that He is doing and all glory to Him. Ephesians 6:10 reminds us- “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” We pray that we would all continue to be steadfast in the Lord and God would bless in power and in might!
