September 24 Recap

And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18)

At the start of another academic year, we are looking to God to lead, guide and bless all the ministries in the church that recommenced throughout September. On Sunday 1st September we started the month with our Back to School with God service and in the evening Robert Orr from Orr’s family butcher in the town came along to share his story of God’s saving grace in his life. Please do check out the video recording on Facebook.

Within the first 10 days of September all the ministries recommenced which include: Senior Citizens, Friday Night Club, Kidz Reach, Thrive, Soul Sisters and the Stauros group. It is great that every single ministry has seen growth in the number of people who are attending and again we give thanks to those who volunteer to help us share the good news of Jesus Christ. We pray that the growth would be spiritual too, souls being saved, and believers being rooted and ground deeper in Christ.

On Sunday 15th there was a baby dedication service for Renia Burns. Together with family and friends we gave thanks to God for her safe arrival and pray the Lord will bless her as she grows up.

During the Sunday morning services, Pastor Jonathan has continued the series he began at the end of August on David and Pastor Steve begun a series called Follow & Share, looking at the life of Peter on Sunday evenings. Meanwhile Teaching Tuesday recommenced on 10th with Pastor Jonathan continuing the series of teaching on the book of Revelation.

The first Tuesday in September was our final missionary meeting of the summer with Stanley Kyle along from Arab World Ministries. We are so thankful to God for the blessing and freedom we enjoy living in Belfast and pray for countries where there is no witness for Christ.

Throughout the month Pastor Steve has shared in assemblies in Forthriver, Glenwood, Edenbrooke and Cliftonville Integrated Primary Schools. The Scripture Union also recommenced in the Girls Model. Over 1000 boys and girls have heard God’s word through the opportunities Steve has had in the schools and we pray that they will remember and trust what they have heard.

As a church we pray for God’s sustaining grace over those families who are going through grief in the last month that the Lord would help and comfort them.
