Everyone is Welcome at the Welcome

April 25 Recap

19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19)

April was another incredible month at the Welcome. The highlights this month included celebrating Christ’s death on Good Friday by breaking bread, having a fellowship breakfast on the Saturday morning followed by Easter Sunday celebrating the resurrection and the baptism service in the evening. We celebrate a Saviour who is alive, and we give thanks to the Lord for His salvation.

At the start of the month Pastor Jonathan finished his series looking at the cries of the cross on Sunday mornings and Pastor Steve finished series looking at the Life of Peter in the evenings. On the first Tuesday of the month Pastor Jonathan finished the teaching series on 2 Thessalonians. Everyone has enjoyed the instruction from God’s word, and we are so thankful to have two faithful pastors.

Discipleship Explored took place on Sunday 13th April with Jim Tate sharing his testimony and on Sunday 27th Margaret Hanna shared her testimony. We give thanks to God for what He has done in both their lives, and it was encouraging to see their families come along.

We had a missionary meeting with Mark Armstrong sharing about the work of Langham ministries on 15th April and Dean Houston a great friend of the church spoke on the final Tuesday of the month while Thrive went Go Karting. One other special service was when Kidz & Youth Reach led our Easter Service on Palm Sunday. We thank God for all the children and young people who took part.

Pastor Steve has been busy in the schools again taking the Scripture Union Group in Forth River Primary and the Girls Model. He also began a series of P7 it’s Your Move lessons in Springfield and Blackmountain, to prepare the pupils as they move to their new schools alongside Emma-Jayne from Woodvale Methodist.

On Saturday 12th Pastor Steve officiated the wedding of Samantha & Stephen Dauncey. As a church we wish them every blessing for their future together.

Each Thursday we gather in the church for the Hour of Prayer from 11-12pm. On Thursday 24th we give thanks for John who came back to the Lord having turned his back on God. We pray that the Lord would encourage him and use him to be a blessing to others.

Again, we extend our sympathise to those in our community whose love ones have passed away. The prayer list at the minute seems never ending and we pray that the Lord would help all of those who went through surgery, are awaiting appointments and who are ill at this time.

It has been a busy month, but we give all glory to God that He is alive, and He is still changing lives today!
